Identifying Asperger Syndrome Behavior

Asperger Syndrome is a disorder on the Autism Spectrum with similar symptoms to autism, but usually to a lesser degree. Identifying Asperger syndrome behavior is often difficult until a child is at least five years old. A child with Asperger syndrome may be very interested in his/her environment, extremely verbal, and have average/high intellectual functioning.

Usually an individual with Asperger syndrome behavior may have a hard time establishing social relationships, have a limited array of interests, poor coordination and poor concentration. There may also be some less noticeable self-stimulatory behavior, such as running around a room for no apparent reason or flipping objects between the fingers.

As one of the five pervasive developmental disorders, it distinguishes itself with an impairment in social skills, and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, and/or activities. Although individuals with Asperger’s disorder may be very verbal, speech may have an unusual inflection, tone, rate, rhythm, or emphasis (e.g., tone of voice may be monotonous or may not sound appropriate in the context that it is used). They may also have an impairment in nonverbal communication, such as little eye contact, appropriate facial expressions, or appropriate body gestures/postures.

Asperger’s disorder becomes more noticeable as the child gets older and fails to develop appropriate social relationships. It may also be recognized as a child becomes inappropriately fixated on certain activities or objects. An individual may also have difficulty understanding certain types of humor, sarcasm, or other underlying information involved in socializing or communicating.

Treatment options for Asperger’s disorder may vary depending on the child’s level of need. A child displaying Asperger syndrome behavior may receive speech therapy, occupational therapy, and behavior analysis services using behavior intervention plans to increase social skills and decrease any problem behaviors.

The child may also have support from special education services within the school system to focus on specific social skills at school or other challenges the child may be facing. If you suspect your child may be showing symptoms of Asperger’s speak with your pediatrician to learn how to have your child evaluated and what services are available in your area.

The Wide Spectrum of Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms

Due to the fact that multiple sclerosis is a complex disease that primarily causes impairments at the level of the central nervous system (CNS) that later spread in multiple regions of the body, the produced symptoms are various and can perceived at different intensities. In its first stages of progression, multiple sclerosis generates a wide variety of mild to moderate neurological symptoms. In more advanced phases of the disease, when other body systems also become affected, multiple sclerosis may cause many different physical manifestations.

The undesired effects of multiple sclerosis on the human body are often irreversible, rendering prompt medical intervention crucial for reducing the development of complications. Despite the fact that there is no specific cure for multiple sclerosis in present, the existing forms of treatment can successfully control the progression rate and the symptoms characteristic to this type of disease. Thus, patients are usually administered an appropriate treatment as soon as they are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

The symptoms of multiple sclerosis are diversified and they can occur in many different body regions. Most patients have individualized symptoms of multiple sclerosis, manifestations that generally occur in episodes, or flares. The intensity, frequency and duration of multiple sclerosis symptoms are strongly influenced by the stage of progression and the specific subtype of the disease. The progression of multiple sclerosis is often unpredictable, alternating between phases of symptomatic remission and phases of relapse. The majority of patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis experience recidivating symptoms that generally tend to amplify in the stages of relapse.

Common symptoms of multiple sclerosis comprise generalized fatigue, body weakness, sensations of tingling, burning, pain and numbness in the muscles, loss of dexterity and poorly coordinated body movement. Other common symptoms produced by multiple sclerosis are: vision problems, shaking of the limbs, spasms, convulsions, inability to maintain balance, dizziness, vertigo and confusion. In more advanced phases of disease, multiple sclerosis can also generate manifestations such as partial paralysis, renal and gastrointestinal problems.

Neuropsychological symptoms of multiple sclerosis generally occur in the incipient stages of disease, gradually amplifying over time. Such symptoms include inaccurate perceptions, decreased concentration, short-term memory loss (amnesia), reduced judgment and unexpected changes in behavior. A symptom that is commonly seen in patients with multiple sclerosis is depression. Persons with multiple sclerosis eventually become depressed and refuse any form of social interaction. Although depression and other similar neuropsychological symptoms are a common problem among patients with multiple sclerosis, medical scientists haven’t yet unveiled the exact origin of such manifestations.

While some groups of medical scientists believe that most neuropsychological symptoms are solely the result of impairments at the level of the central nervous system, others believe that they are a consequence of prolonged treatment. This second opinion is considered to be more accurate, as the psychological symptoms of patients with multiple sclerosis gradually ameliorate after the treatment is interrupted.

Homemade Carp Baits Made Using Potent Liquids and Ingredients in Your Kitchen!

Everyone wants cheaper ways to go fishing and saving money on bait is a massively important thing to anglers these days. You might think homemade kitchen are ineffective, but guess what, the majority of commercial bait recipes first began in the kitchen – so read on now and save yourself a fortune as well as improve your catches – for life!

Encouraging attractively-stimulating substances in your baits to leach out makes all the difference to your catches and the more easily and better they are able to hydrate and become more soluble they are the better!

You might immediately assume that cake-making flavours are the limit kitchen liquids to exploit in baits, but you can introduce loads of feeding triggers, attractors, enhancers and sweeteners in liquid forms! You can turn a vast range of dry kitchen food items into very useful liquids, by mixing them with warm water, or a condiment with a powder, or by liquidising an individual food or mixing a selection of things together.

Here’s a few examples I have found in my kitchen put to good use to make dips, soaks, etc used in particle and sea food preparation and in homemade paste, boilie pellet-making and in boosting a few readymade boilie base mixes, homemade and readymade ground baits, stick mixes, spod mixes, method mixes, flavouring maggots etc:

Marmite (or other types of yeast extract that are cheaper!)

Smooth peanut butter.

Soy source.

Tomato puree and Ketchups etc.

Worcester source.

Belachan.

Parmesan cheese.

Sea salt.

Horlicks drink.

Nesquick milk shakes.

Jellies.

Ice creams.

Chocolate powder.

Fresh crushed and powdered black pepper.

Herbs and spices and not just chilli pepper powders of which there are many forms!

Very ripe Banana – liquidised!

Very ripe pineapple containing significant active enzymes and other acids etc…

Mango – these contain significant enzymes and bioactives etc…

Papaya – these contain significant enzymes etc…

Strawberries…

Raspberry puree.

Jams and marmalades.

Coconut milks; normal and low fat versions.

Nut purees.

Creamed and concentrated soups.

Sugars; Demerara is superior to cheap white!

Condensed and evaporated milks.

Powdered milks.

Liquidised vegetables and fruits mixtures such as blueberries, and red peppers.

Fructose (fruit sugar.)

Soluble dieting and body-building powders.

Health tonics liquids and powders (including liquid body-building protein.)

Garlic and onion powders.

Crab spread.

Liver pate.

Liquidised liver.

Golden syrup.

Glucose syrup.

Honey.

Molasses.

Glycerine.

Beetroot juice.

Creamed sesame seeds (e.g. Tahini.)

Strong instant coffee.

Cod liver oil.

Natural almond extract, natural orange and vanilla extracts etc.

Natural food dyes in liquid and powdered forms.

There are loads more things – with all kinds of useful impacts on fish senses and physiology etc to induce the behaviours and modes of feeding that you really want!

Including dye your dips and your baits will produce a plume of attractive attractor and feeding trigger-rich cloud in the water – if you make them right and keep them highly soluble so they break down easily for this effect! Liquidised sea foods for instance liquidised mussels, prawn, even tinned shrimps, cockles, tuna, crab, frozen squid etc (but use fresh not preserved whenever possible!) Concentrated fruit and herbal teas such a super fruits, vanilla and acai and ginseng, liqorice and Echinacea containing versions with only potent natural flavours and bioactives!

Many kitchen food items come from super markets but online stores, health stores etc. Modern cake-making flavours are totally different now; more naturally-orientated these days! But when it comes to buying from the shop or supermarket think about how you can seriously maximise the impacts of the essential nutritional attractions and bioactives within those foods; and study the labels very carefully for it reaps massive benefits and rewards – for you personally and in terms of your fish captures! (For example I recommend using sea salt with CC Moore concentrated garlic plus their unique ‘Cyprivit’ vitamin supplement – instead of garlic salt!)

Even the most innocent seemingly simple kitchen bait soak or dip can be extremely complex! For example, something like this: Marmite and molasses, fructose, a bit of instant coffee, plus liquidised pilchards in tomato source with liver pate and flaked crab with liquidised mussels carries an awesome array of feeding triggers, attractors and loads of special factors that fish really respond to internally instantly and longer-term…

You can use liquid from canned pulses, peas and beans, used with juices and oils from tinned fish etc, even to form a milky lactose-rich bait soak from certain lactose-laced breakfast cereals.

But of course seriously effective homemade bait making is about basing your efforts on knowledge of fish. This is paramount and without this detailed knowledge you are really guessing and hoping. Sure bait making is about feedback from catches in order to refine and fine-tune, but you need to know your fish in the beginning to really get the bigger picture about what you are trying to do so you begin to truly understand the power of baits over fish on a whole spectrum of levels and impacts, both instantly and over the long-term.

It is not merely what you use, how much you use, what you combine with what and why. It can be very simple indeed to make an effective bait using just 2 materials and a liquid – but it is in the knowing the reasons why you chose those specific things and why you combine them that is really powerful and exciting. But bait making is so much more profound than it might first appear.

When you have this knowledge and detailed information you can adapt and improve (and out-compete) endless readymade boilies, pellets, and also ready-prepared particle baits such as hemp and tiger nuts and even sea foods like mussels, cockles and prawn, and live foods like maggots too – and even boost fake baits like plastic sweetcorn!

You just need to find out how to do this so you can do it all yourself – and save a fortune and reap the big rewards in improved fish catches – for life because knowledge really is for life! Revealed in my unique readymade bait and homemade bait carp and catfish bait secrets ebooks is far more powerful information – look up my unique website (Baitbigfish) and see my biography below for details of my ebooks deals right now!

Biomedical Autism Treatment – How it All Began

The biomedical autism treatment movement for autism-spectrum disorders (ASD) got its start from an organization in San Diego, CA. called the Autism Research Institute, founded by the late Bernard Rimland, Ph.D. (1928-2006). Dr. Rimland had always felt that autism and its related disorders had its roots in biological causation (aka. biomedical) – meaning there was an underlying medical reason for a child’s autism, as opposed to the prevailing attitude that autism is just a neurodevelopment disorder.

After much study and research Dr. Rimland became an advocate for the use of high dose vitamin B6 along magnesium to support the biochemical challenges facing autistic individuals. This simple combination of nutritional supplements helped with many of the cognitive problems seen commonly in autism. In fact, in some autistic children, teenagers and adults who have tried this therapy it can work in helping to improve their eye contact and speech development, along with less hyperactivity and awareness deficits. Overtime, Dr. Rimland began to collaborate with like-minded professionals such as physicians who were also using vitamin and mineral therapies in their practices to assist the health of their chronically ill patients, some of whom were on the autism-spectrum. From these early efforts in biomedical autism treatment, the Defeat Autism Now organization was born.

From their original meetings in Dallas, Texas in 1995 has sprung forth a highly respected group of clinicians, researchers, and other health care professionals dedicated to researching and treating the various medical problems commonly seen in autistic individuals. Some of these issues include autoimmune disorders, digestive imbalances including inflammatory bowel disease, yeast and bacteria issues, metabolic disorders including detoxification and methylation deficits, heavy metal toxicity, and more. All of these fall under the biomedical autism treatment “umbrella.”

The Defeat Autism Now organization is to be commended for their dedication to helping unveil the health challenges of many autistic individuals, and for being champions in the face of unrelenting criticism from the traditional medical community. If it were not for Dr. Rimland and the other dedicated physicians and scientists who followed Dr. Rimland’s lead, the biomedical autism treatment movement would never have taken hold – and we would still be in the dark ages of autism treatment and research.

One of the unique events that takes place is something called the Defeat Autism Now conference. This conference is held twice yearly -once on the east coast and once on the west coast of the United States. These conferences are an incredible resource of information for parents and doctors seeking answers to the biomedical issues facing autism-spectrum individuals. The concepts of good diet, proper immune and digestive function, and the promotion of health and vitality are nothing new to the world of natural medicine, but the Defeat Autism Now group has been able to bridge this gap between the old paradigm of drug therapy and institutionalization, and ways to support the health and well-being of autistic individuals more naturally.

It is this biomedical autism treatment organization – which I am proud to be part of – that has been able to bring these health issues to the forefront of the autism epidemic which we now face. The traditional medical view that there is “nothing that can be done to help autistic individuals” is totally false and misleading. The Defeat Autism Now organization, through their research and treatment guidelines has proven immensely successful for many individuals. All that is required is for parents and/or physicians to open their minds and be willing to explore what biomedical autism treatment and intervention has to offer. Go here to find out about the next Defeat Autism Now conference.

DIY Spa – How to Create Your Own Spa

At home spa treatments – a step by step guide

Few can deny that a trip to the spa is a luxurious treat we may afford ourselves. However the truth is, in the current recession and the reality of huge budget cuts for everybody will mean even the cheapest of spa deals is likely to leave a dent in our pockets.

Fortunately the Natural Health and Beauty Hub is about to give you some ideas about how to create the best DIY spa in town. And the location? Your home!

At home spa retreat

You can make it as long or short as you like depending on the time that you have available to you. Our recommendation is to put aside around 2-3 hours so that you can focus on your spa day.

First we are going to look at the spa products that you can choose from. Each beauty manufacturer has their own version of traditional spa products and they of course vary widely in price. For example The more affordable is The Sanctury which has a good range in boots and ESPA is at the other end of the spectrum and is commonly used in Spa’s but can also be found in Liberty’s for example.

Next we will give you some tips on how you can create these from your own kitchen.

1. Decide what you want to do. Think about how you are feeling to decide what spa treatments are best. Do you want a detox? Beauty treatments e.g. manicure, pedicure or facial?
2. Prepare your area. Once you have decided on your spa treatment you will need to gather some equipment to enhance your spa experience. This can include nice soft plump towels hung on the radiator to keep it warm, soothing music (don’t take electrical items into the bathroom or shower room, use it outside the room) and a refreshing drink of your choice such as water with lemon and lime wedges in it. The list is endless so it depends on what makes you feel good and relaxed.
3. Below are some spa treatments you might want to include

Body scrub – Basic recipe – Mix 4 tablespoons of sugar or sea salt with 2 teaspoons of oil of your choice (olive oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil). Excellent for sloughing off dead skin and improving texture and circulation. Add a maximum of 12 drops of essential oils for example 8 drops of orange and 4 Patchouli. Or 3 drops Spearmint, 5 drops Orange and 4 Lavender.

Scented candle – Tea light candle, oil burner and essential oils such as jasmine, lavender to create a relaxing environment – try this mix to reduce stress, 6 drops of Lavender, 6 drops mandarin. Blend to lift & balance your mood – 1 drop Geranium, 2 drops frankincense, 2 drops orange.

Facial steam – Herbal facial steam with calendula petals, lavender or geranium – fill a bowl with boiling water (be careful not to spill it) and add the herbs, petals or essential oils of your choice. Place the bowl on a flat surface and drape a towel over your head and the bowl. Make sure your face is at least 12 inches away from the bowl to prevent scolding. Stay there for 5 minutes and splash your face with cold water to finish.

Face mask – 2 tablespoons of yoghurt & 2 tablespoons of honey mixed with a strawberry.

Eye soother – 2 pieces of cucumber sliced, cotton wool soaked in natural witch hazel placed over the eyes (not dripping), teabags.

Manicure – hands in milk, wash off and push back cuticles using an orange stick, remove rough bits, file nails, buff, use a cuticle oil or balm (olive oil is fine), undercoat and polish of your choice.

Pedicure – Same as above, but you can soak your feet in water instead of milk and moisturise your feet with an intensive balm once they are dry.

4. Finish off with a cup of Red Bush, Camomile, or Green tea to provide you with natural antioxidants to support the treatments you have provided yourself with.
5. Lastly, if you have a willing friend or partner, ask them if they will give you a massage. There. The ultimate spa treat!

Downloadable Spectrum Anaylzers

There was a time that the analysis of spectral composition whether it is an electrical, acoustic or optical waveform was done using a large machine similar to those used in a recording studio.

These days, computers and other machines can do the same by simply downloading the software. Here a few examples of those readily available.

1. If the person at home is using either Windows2000 or XP, the program called Spectrogram 14 can offer a spectrum analyzer scope display in real time for any source that is connected to the sound card.

This in turn allows the user to download songs so this can be played back later on with clarity for easy listening. The software can also be used to analyze biological and bat echolocation sounds as well as the identification of human speech.

2. An older program that can also be downloaded is the DL4YHF Audio Spectrum Analyzer. This was already out in the market even before windows came out using the DOS system. To be able to keep up with the times, a digital version was launched.

This is better known these days as a specialized audio analyzer that can act as a data logger, filer and a frequency converter.

3. The OscilloMeter also known as Spectrum Analyzer 4.14 is another good choice. It comes with a frequency counter, noise and distortion meter, phase shift meter and a voltmeter. The only catch is that this has to be bought for $399.

4. The SpectraScope is something that will be very useful for the professional audio engineer or someone who is just a hi-fi enthusiast. The individual can listen to four different sounds simultaneously or separately for easy comparison.

It supports all Windows Operating systems and this can be downloaded for a free trial for just $30. People who like what it can do can buy the program later on.

5. TrueTRA, a company based in Tennessee has a similar program that is not that expensive. For less than $40, the person can buy the program and then use it to analyze sounds using the different meters it has.

Most of the downloadable spectrum analyzers are free. It doesn’t occupy a lot of space in the hard drive for this to work. The only thing needed is an Internet connection so this can be installed in a few minutes and the person can begin to use it.

Nurse’s Report: Breaking News: New Non-Invasive Light Therapy Now Being Used to Treat Severe Acne

Finally after two decades of research, combination light therapy is being used to treat severe cases of acne successfully.

What is new is that acne is being treated with the right combination of red light and blue light, not individually, as has been done in the past.

This is a great change from the standard treatment of poisoning or cutting the acne patient. By poisoning and cutting I mean taking drugs (medications) or undergoing surgery.

It’s non-invasive, non-pharmacological (no drugs) and completely natural. There may be some side effects to be aware of however with all light therapy.

This light therapy, which is made up of light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, is most often used to apply concentrated doses of light to patients. LEDs are not lasers. The tissue doesn’t get hot and the treatment is totally painless.

LED light is compressed light from the red and infrared spectrum of the electromagnetic radiation. It reaches the cellular power plants of low-lying cells too, and is absorbed by the collector surfaces as an additional source of energy.

The cellular power plants can thus produce more ATP. The cellular energy is the fuel the skin cells look for and needs.

A sufficiently high supply of cellular energy enables our skin cells to work under optimum conditions and is necessary for a successful self-healing process.

So light apparently works on human tissue at the cellular level. This helps the body repair itself and heal faster.

Light can also change the speed of certain chemical processes by speeding them up or slowing them down.

Light therapy, which medically speaking, is called photo rejuvenation, refers to all treatment and devices that use powerful wavelengths of light, sometimes called “cold laser”, but is not actually laser, applied to skin.

There are four kinds of light being used in the medical field today. They are: near infrared light, red light, blue light, and ultraviolet light (UV).

The two kinds of light being used together in this new research, for severe acne, are red light and blue light.

Red light is visible. Infrared light is not visible. Red light seems to help wounds heal faster. It has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect and can kill bacteria on the spot.

More technically, visible red light, when it’s at the proper wavelength, penetrates the human tissue at a depth of approximately 8mm-10mm. Skin layers, because of their high blood and water content, easily absorb red light.

It’s extremely beneficial in treating problems near the surface, such as acne, acne scars, wrinkles, age spots, broken capillaries, wounds, cuts, other scars, and trigger points. It’s also particularly effective in treating infections.

Red light promotes increased circulation, stimulates collagen production, diminishes age spots, stimulates tissue repair, promotes healing stimulation, releases enhancing enzymes, and increases lymphatic system activity.

It also relieves pain, kills or disables temperature-sensitive bacteria and viruses, and performs cellular cleansing and healing.

Blue light is used as an anti-bacterial agent.

Blue light therapy was one of the first light-based therapies used for acne treatment. Blue light works by killing the acne-causing bacteria, P. acnes, and has been used to treat inflammatory acne vulgaris that hasn’t responded to other acne therapies.

The blue-light products of today do not contain ultraviolet (UV) light, which used to be used as a light therapy to treat acne. UV light can damage the skin and is no longer used to treat acne.

It’s this proper combination of red light and blue light therapy, working together in a special way, which will reduce and heal the severe acne that has plagued so many.

It’s always best to seek non-invasive treatment for any condition. Invasive treatment would mean anything that invades or therefore penetrates the body in some way. Drugs or medications would be an example of this.

In this case it’s a great alternative to drugs or even surgery for long suffering acne patients. Treating acne and possibly acne scars with this proper combination is revolutionary.

Acne sufferers are beginning to see the light! It won’t be long before everyone is using this combination light therapy and some may have access to it now. Discuss this new acne treatment with your skin doctor, skin specialist or dermatologist.

Make Your Healthy Fruit Smoothies Into a Powerhouse Meal!

A basic healthy smoothie is already a healthier meal than many folks eat, especially for breakfast. A typical smoothie recipe starts with of a base of milk, milk substitute, yogurt, or fruit juice. You then add your favorite fruits and vegetables, trying different combinations to maximize the flavor and give yourself the most nutrition.

But if you want to put together a real nutritional powerhouse smoothie, you’ll want to try adding nutrient-dense ingredients such as green superfoods, superfruits, protein powders, healthy fats — even spices.

Following is a list of ingredients that I personally use interchangeable to supercharge the nutritional content of my smoothies.

Protein Powders

Use a dairy-free protein powder made from hemp seed, whey, brown rice, etc. Not only will these boost the protein content of your smoothie, some of these also add as much as 14 grams of fiber per serving!

Raw Organic Eggs

Eggs are nature’s highest-quality protein. Each egg adds another 7 or 8 grams of protein. This is the healthiest way to include eggs in your diet, and you won’t even know they’re in there!

Green Superfood Powders

Algae-based foods such as chlorella or spirulina are the most nutrient-dense foods known. They’re often blended with dehydrated green vegetables and superfruit powders to improve the taste and give you a wider spectrum of phytonutrients! Just one tablespoon of these powders gives you as much nutritional value as 3 servings of spinach!

SuperFruit Juices

Antioxidant superfruits such as acai, goji, mangosteen and noni have far more nutritional content than any other fruit. They also have unique phytonutrients not found in conventional fruits, which may be responsible for the significant health benefits that some users experience from using these superfuit juices. Adding just one ounce of any of these boosts the antioxidant content of your smoothie as much as a whole cup of strawberries.

Healthy Fats

Coconut oil, flaxseed or hemp seed powders are all rich in healthy omega fats. Adding a little bit coconut oil to your healthy smoothie will give it a richer, creamier texture, too.

Spices

Spices are, by far, the richest source of antioxidants of any food, ounce-for-ounce. You can boost the antioxidant level of your healthy smoothie by a country mile by adding the right spices.

The best spices to use for both flavor and antioxidant benefits are cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Oregano, rosemary and thyme also have very high levels of antioxidants, but won’t do much for the taste of many smoothie recipes. Parsley is an easy option to use if you want to add just a little bit of green to your fruit smoothies.

Turmeric, or curcumin, is another spice that has amazing benefits. Start by adding just a quarter-teaspoon to your healthy smoothie; you probably won’t notice the flavor in most recipes. As always with curcumin, add just a pinch of black pepper to it; that increases the bioavailability of the curcumin by a factor of 1,000!

Chewing Your Food is Crucial to Digestion!

Eating begins with the simple art of chewing.

Chewing leads to smooth digestion and greater assimilation of nutrients because it initiates the release of digestive enzymes and breaks down food.

Chewing turns grains and other complex carbohydrates into satisfying sugars and makes oils, proteins and minerals available for maximum absorption. Whole foods, especially whole grains, must be mixed with saliva and chewed until liquid. Because digestion becomes so efficient when you chew your food, your body will feel wonderfully light. Chewing allows foods to release their full nutritional value.

To get started in the habit of chewing correctly, try counting the chewing of each bite 30 to 50 times at the beginning of each meal. It helps to put down your fork between bites.

Here are some good chewing suggestions:

1. Chew every mouthful of food at least 30 times each, until the food becomes liquid.

2. Remember that chewing breaks down food and makes it easier on the stomach and small intestine to digest.

3. If under pressure at meals, simply chew, and let the chewing relax you.

Then you can enjoy the whole spectrum of tastes and aromas that makes up the meal.

4. Before eating, shower or wash your hands and face.

5. Turn off the television, radio and telephone.

6. Do not read.

7. Find a clean quiet place to eat.

8. Light a candle or play soft music.

9. Stretch and breathe.

10. Say a prayer.

Try this yummy recipe!

Simple Brown Rice

So simple and yet so good!

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup brown rice – short or medium grain brown rice is best

2 cups water

Directions:

1. Bring rice and water to a boil in a covered pot.

2. Turn the heat down as low as possible.

3. Cook for another 45 minutes.

4. Do not stir.

Variations: Add a carrot for sweetness. Cut into chunks or put it in whole.

Natural Anti Aging Through LED Light Treatment

Anti aging light therapy is something that’s just beginning to be studied by science. It’s funny to think of light being used as an anti aging technique, especially since one of the worst things for the skin is overexposure to direct sunlight. But, as in all things, moderation is key. As time goes on, science and studies show more and more that light is one of the most beneficial things to the human body. It has long been known that light is integral to the production of vitamin D in the body, and the presence of light triggers the release of positive hormones in the body.

Many studies have shown that different forms of light have different, very specific positive effects on the body. LED light therapy, for example is now being widely researched as a method of stimulating damaged cells in the healing process. Red light, as well as near infrared light are a wavelength of light that is able to penetrate through the initial layers of skin and get down into the deeper tissue beneath. This spectrum of light helps stimulate the cell into creating energy in the form of ATP, and also by stimulating the production of new DNA.

Other studies are also being done about the body’s ability to metabolize direct sunlight into the body for energy. It’s really interesting information. The body seems to find all different spectrums of light useful, and can process them accordingly to gain a positive effect. So lets get back to anti aging light therapy.

In my studies of the properties of light and its effects on the body, anti aging light therapy has come up again and again. It is a process that uses LED lights to stimulate health and vitality in cells. Studies have shown that LED light therapy can be very beneficial in aiding damaged cells in their repair process. They stimulate growth and energy production in order to help the cell restore itself. Since aging can be described as a form of damage, some websites claim that LED light therapy can reverse the signs of age and make reduce wrinkles. From what I am able to gather, this is not the case. Anti aging light therapy does however seem to keep healthy skin youthful longer. But before anyone goes out and buys an expensive anti aging light device, it should be noted that the same effects on the skin can be achieved simply by lying down in direct sunlight for a short period of time each day.

Direct sunlight encompasses every wavelength on the light spectrum, and because of that, everything that a person can gain from LED light therapy, they technically can also gain from exposure to direct sunlight. However, it should be noted that LED light therapy and anti aging light therapy don’t have that other range of the spectrum that causes sun burns and can lead to skin cancer. That’s why most people prefer to use LEDs in the comfort of their own home. LEDs can also concentrate the light energy they emit, reducing the application time needed. Most people don’t have the time to spend 2 hours underneath direct sunlight. They do though have time to apply an LED to the surface of their skin while watching an hour of their favorite TV show.

The human body is mostly water. Skin isn’t generally thought of as a translucent substance, but to much of the light spectrum, it really is. Just as light is able to penetrate the surface of the ocean, so also some of the spectrum is able to penetrate through the surface of the skin. Red and near infrared light are able to penetrate through the skin, up to 6 inches according to some reports. Once LED light penetrates the skin however, it generally scatters very quickly. Depending on what type of material it encounters (bone, muscle, fat) and what specific wavelength of light is being used, it will disperse more quickly. Fortunately for the purposes of anti aging light therapy, the wavelength doesn’t need to penetrate very far in order to encounter the damaged tissue. But it’s still important to get the right wavelength and intensity. Normal LEDs will do the job, but because of the inexpensive nature of medical LEDs, it’s generally safer just to go with one specifically designed for use with the human body. Happy healing to all!
